The same paint that those nice people in China paint children's toys with.    ::)

It is bird safe,  I went to  "Western and Central New York's largest store dedicated exclusively to pet birds".

They had a a number of unweaned baby birds there.  There was a macaw I believe (I don't remember the exact species) with a hatch date of 2/21 that looked like the most pitiful thing you ever did see!  He looked like a 1/2 plucked turkey with BIG feet and he was making these "bleating" noises, you just wanted to comfort the ugly thing!  Baby birds are ugly and sad looking without their feathers.   :-\

The size of the new cage is 32 x 21  x ?, and the other one is 18 x 18 x ?, so yes more room especially width wise.    I will clean up the other one and think about putting it on craigs list sometime.    Green cheeked conures are smaller than Sun's and it would be perfect for one of them.

Bath Day!    Until it gets warmer I am just giving her a bath on the weekend, during the summer I will do one or two during the week before work probably.

Do you spray her w/a spray bottle for the bath?

She even looks great w/"apres bath Shemp hair" :)

No she sits on my hand in the kitchen sink under the water.  She so far doesn't seem to be a bird that likes to play in a bowl of water, or water in the bottom of the sink, but just likes to sit under a warm shower of it.  I have a filter on the kitchen faucet so it can be set to a shower like setting or the solid stream and I use the shower setting (not on full blast).

They say you can use a spray bottle but it should be more of a "misting" bottle or on a light misting setting, you don't want to be squirting the bird to where it fears it.   Maybe I will get one for the summer if she likes to get "misted" sometimes.
