Dexter has the deep sepration lines to have him double in size on stage. If you look at weight youd think he's small......but with his separation and grainy hardness, he beats the mass monsters at their own game.
This is common in amateur shows. Ive had my ass kicked by middleweights because they had deeper lines and shadows. Nice to see it in the pros....hopefully weightclasses will bring reality back to the sport and help marketability
I agree, I got beat in an overall by Middle wt from FL in 1994 that was about 168 and 5'6" . His cuts were so damn deep ,on his small frame, I simply shook his hand after the winner was announced.
If you look at some of the pics of Dex at the Arnold it clealry shows a depth on muscle separation few have ever exhibited on a pro stage.Their is one pic of him holding the arnold overall trophy and the separation of his arm and delt from the side are mind boggling .
The last O was really close and any of the top 5 guys could make a case for winning the show.
Bodybuildin is a judged sport and a variety of subjective factors come into play when picking the winner at close contest. I know judging is not 100% objective and perfect, but complicated , secret conspiracy plans to determine the winner don't happen. The top guys like Jay have an ideal kind of pro physique or they would never get to be a top pro in the first place. When it is close all kinds of theories open up about why some guy won or didn't win.
No matter who wins, people will alsways say somebody else should have when it is close.
