We live in a "Bling Bling" society. All about bragging rights....pathetic really. To spend your life in pursuit of material worthless (in the big scope of things).
I know a guy who was livin' it up. Had 2-3 houses, 2 businesses, cars, et cetera. Goes out gets more stuff he DIDN'T NEED. Hell why not? Well, now with our shitty economy, he can no longer afford his lifestyle.....so now he's looking at bankruptcy. He's one of those people who feels the need to "show off".
Personally, I live in a modest home. I drive modest cars (paid for at least). My buddy went out got a Hummer, because apparently, it was the "cool" thing to do.....hell, everyone is doing it, right? It's funny, I could have gotten one too, but fail to see why ANYONE who ONLY drives around town needs an all terrain vehicle. especially when that vehicle is a fucking gas gussler, and expensive to insure. Don't even get me started on the "environment" issue, as we can't expect the selfish to give a shit about conserving fuel......
Agreed. In the end though, how someone spends their money, is up to them. Some people spend it on clothes/shoes, others on rims/cars, others on steroids/gh...some on all listed. With that said, it's my responsiblity to keep it real and call a douchebag a douchebag. If someone owns an Escalade, Corvette, or Hummer...they're probably a douchebag. Throw in a personalized license plate, they bump up to the "complete douchebag" category. Yes, even something as small as a license plate, can change your social status. Nice cars are great, but the Escalade/Hummer revolution must end...along with the hip hop shit "music" scene. I hope we can all look back on this decade on day and agree, we have created the biggest idiotic era since human existence. How we as a society have "evolved", is frightening at times. On one hand, you have brilliant people creating computer OS's and the advancement of hardware...on the other end...you have this...
