Here is what happened, in a nutshell:
I walked to the store next door to my office....noted a 20 year old Mercedes parked across 4 spaces...including blocking the only handicapped space.
Now, I have many patients who legitimately need and use handicapped stickers...and often, they can't find spaces because of assholes like the Mercedes guy taking them illegally.
So, I usually mind my own business and don't seek conflict. I can say I am often very diplomatic, as well.
But in this case, I approached this guy (he was the only one in the store) and asked him if his was the car in qwuestion.
It was, naturally, and he immediately got defensive, and told me to "Mind my own business".
Well, I told him it was my business, and mentioned my next door practice, my patients who suffer because of actions like his, blah blah blah.
Then, he called me a stupid asshole and walked out.
I followed him, and told him I was calling the cops on him (which I wasn't gonna really do).
Then he checked himself. I told him that he was a fat fuck (he looked to be 25 years old and about 275 pounds), that he should park his car far away to burn calories, and basically that nothing about him hinted of any redeeming qualities.
Anyway...this was out of character for me, to say anything out loud...but this handicapped bs really gets my goat.
Anyone here...how would have you handled it? Thoughts on this?
