Jackson Pollock

Interesting, he used household gloss enamel paints in his paintings.  I would think the lightfastness might be an issue but seeing his paintings, there doesn't seem to be much of an problem over time.  No discussion expected, just posting for the hell of it.

You may remember the scene from the movie with Ed Harris where he reluctantly let the filming go on of him working... Here's the actual filming:

Parts also included in the first youtube clip.

Having seen Blue Poles before here in Aus, I'm sorry but it is not impressive at all. It is big, but it just a bunch of colours thrown on it. I'm hardly an art buff, so i guess theres more to it than what meets the average eye, but like i said, IMO unimpressive, and insane that it is worth an estimated 100-150 million.

yeah I don't quite get it myself (and I'm an artist)...of course part of it is jealousy because he's a household name in artists terms, but I tend to agree with the last post.  JP is a genius scammer for money!!!!!!  :P

Someday I'd like to shit on canvas and smear it, and trick rich snobs into thinking that it expresses the turmoil of my early 20's.....

I think it's been done, :) but even if not, Tracey Emin produced an installation entitled "My Bed" which featured a dirty bed (obviously), used condoms and other bodily fluids. It went over big, I remember.

full time?  wow, that's pretty good.  What projects have you worked on?  Looks like some comic book work, what issues?  Who are you currently working with?

I freelance full-time, so I go to wherever they wave a paycheck in my face.  :)   I've worked on mostly DC/Marvel-comic book related projects.  Right now doing a bunch of cards for Marvel Masterpieces II card set.
