LOL...OK, well let's go ahead and follow TL's logic for a minute...although it may be somewhat flawed in that there are different kinds of bench shirts (single ply, double ply) and different records for each type. And I also think that the 1,000 pound barrier has indeed been broken, but I am too lazy to look up all the records and see which is which.
I use a single ply polyester shirt. SO, for shits and giggles, we'll go ahead and use the 35% difference. While I did get 235 in the meet, I KNOW that I am good for a lot more than that (I didn't have a belt on at the last meet, so my shirt failed me on my final attempt at 248, but I am sure I could have gotten it). Assuming I am good for 250 in the shirt, that would make my raw bench 185 pounds...so you are right on the money.
