I’ve been giving this some thought…
First of all, I don’t believe one “can’t get in shape because of a thyroid problem or some shit.” Like the rest of you, I know a lot of out of shape people and while many of them like to give legitimate reasons why they are out of shape none of them are convincing.
99.9% of the people I know who are fat are fat because of poor lifestyle habits. One of my best friends (god love him) is fat (340lbs+)and he is always asking me for fitness tips--as if it were some big secret I’m hoarding.
I have told him to stop eating at fast food chains. Period. He hasn’t
I have told him to try being a vegetarian for ONE day. He hasn’t.
I have told him to walk his dog for more than one block. He hasn’t.
He has been talking about join a gym “in a couple months” in all the years I have known him and he is no closer to doing it now than he was when I met him back in early 1990s.
If a guy with one leg or a guy in a wheelchair can get in shape so can you, no matter what your limitation. It’s all a matter of lifestyle choice.
