If Obama gets elected
« on: April 04, 2008, 12:28:37 AM »
I'm thinking about getting on welfare and cancelling my health insurance.

I pay $148 a month for coverage and seriously, I'd like to spend that $ on some new baseball bats (Obama will take my guns, right?)

What else can I do to take advantage of Team Obama's white house stint?

Great idea. I'll tell my wife to stop working so we can be a single income family.

Then I'll go buy a hooptie and head to Wal-Mart and get some wife beater shirts and cheap ass accessories to pimp the new hooptie.

I'll also be sure to start blaming the whiteman for all of society's injustices and see if I qualify for any entitlement programs.

Can anyone here recommend any angry churches I can join that takes the focus off of personal accountability and is anti-semitic?

hahaha.
I just heard another clip from another preacher connected to Obama...this one was really bad.
--------------------------------

Sen. Barack Obama has been linked to another controversial pastor, this time
a declared spiritual adviser who has called white American mayors "slave
masters," and referred to black preachers and politicians who "protect" the
"white man" as "house n-ggers."
"We don't have slave masters, we got mayors," exclaimed James Meeks, an
Illinois state senator and pastor of one of the largest churches in the
state, in an August, 2006 sermon broadcast on a Chicago community television
channel.
Continued Meeks in the sermon: "But they are still the same white people who
are presiding over systems where black people are not able to be educated.
You got some preachers that are house n-ggers. You got some elected
officials that are house n-ggers. Rather than them try and break this up,
they're gonna fight you to protect that white man."

How are they connected?

Aside from his senatorial duties, Meeks is an Illinois superdelegate pledged
to Obama, and also presides over Salem Baptist Church, described as the
largest church in Illinois with some 20,000 members. He has served as an
executive vice president for Jesse Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH organization.
Meeks has reportedly campaigned for Obama and allowed Obama to campaign at
his church during the presidential candidate's 2004 senatorial run.
A recent Meeks endorsement of Obama is touted on the presidential
candidate's campaign website.

In 2006, Meeks informed his church during a sermon he may run for Illinois
governor. He was recorded telling the mostly black congregation any "white
Christian" who doesn't vote for him is a "racist."

"If I do run and there are two people in the race who both are not standing
for morality, if I don't have every white Christian vote in the state of
Illinois, I will stand on top of the Sears Tower and call every one of y'all
racist," Meeks said from his pulpit.

Meeks is also notorious for his strong anti-homosexual platform, which is in
contrast to Obama who has been campaigning for the "gay" vote. Meeks has
routinely voted against pro-homosexual legislation and has been quoted
during sermons referring to same-sex attraction "an evil sickness."

The latest revelations regarding an Obama-linked pastor comes after
anti-American, anti-Israel remarks by Obama's pastor of 20 years, Rev.
Jeremiah Wright Jr., landed Obama in hot water, prompting the presidential
candidate to deliver a major race speech last week.

Also, WND reported last week Obama's Chicago church reprinted an opinion
piece by the Hamas terror group that defended terrorism as legitimate
resistance, refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist and compared
the terror group's official charter - which calls for the murder of Jews -
to America's Declaration of Independence.

If he gets the nomination (he will) it's gonna get a lot worse.

Historians will refer to this period in U.S. history as the Age of Entitlement.

Well said.

After the last 8 years of wise spending and helping the good people of iraq, we're about to enter a sad time.

I understand history and understand why some of this is out there...but as a person running for president, he should not surround himself publically with people like this.  This is not bringing us together, as he states he wants to do in speeches.

LOL

I'm still waiting for that "investment" in Iraq to show dividends - I won't hold my breath.

Sad thing is, now we have to finish what was started so we don't end up sending our sons and daughters there 10 years from now.

Obama might not even be the nominee.  Here's how Hillary can still win:  Everyone knows neither candidate will have enough pledged delegates by the convention, so the superdelegates who can vote any way they want WILL decide this thing.  Hillary has one shot at getting the superdelegates to go her way - win the overall popular vote, including Florida and Michigan.  Although their delegates won't be seated, she can point to the votes cast to make her case to the superdelegates.  If you include those two states, she's not very far behind at all, and if she wins big in Pennsylvania and the remaining states, she very easily could have more actual votes than Obama, despite his delegate lead.  She could point to that to make her case to the superdelegates, and have a reasonable shot at it.

Either way, I think McCain will win.  Between Obama's pastor problems, Hillary overstating her experience in speeches, and these two beating each other up while McCain stands by looking Presidential, neither one of them will win in November.

It doesn't matter who gets elected.  We will be maintaining a large presence in the Persian Gulf region until we have reduced our oil needs to the point that a supply shortage can no longer cripple us.  That's just the way it is.  Best case scenario: 10-12 years if automakers, others in private industry, and the government can fast-track hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle development and production.  Worst case scenario:  until the oil runs out or until we get into a war with China over oil.

And no, Jag, you may not use my comments about the need to reduce oil demand as an excuse to pimp your fuel capsules.  ;)

Who really gives a crap about what the pastors say? just the douches who were never going to vote for obama in the first place (despite the protests of some of them that they were seriously thinking about it).

a quick scan of getbig (or middle america) will indicate to any level-headed person that there are plenty of reasons for blacks to be angry.  If they weren't angry, I'd wonder if something was wrong with them.

A lot of people, some of whom Obama needs to win.  All of a sudden they're wondering if smart articulate Obama who they thought was "their kinda black" is really just Jesse Jackson with a good disguise.  It's more important than liberals want to admit.

Even if what you say is actually true (and not goatboy trying to reassure himself), the general election is a long way away.... Hillary's going to get some mileage out of this business during the next debate, which will give Obama another chance to inoculate himself before John "Bush III" McCain mounts his recycled attacks.

Don't get me wrong,  I'm not saying Obama CAN'T win, and you are right that a lot can happen between now and November; I'm just saying that Obama supporters are underestimating the importance and impact of the "pastor problem".

If he gets elected, then blacks will start acting even more entitled. If Obama kept company like that lunatic pastor, then what's to say he wont openly embrace Jesse Jackson with a bottle of Brandy and a Philly blunt when he gets in the white house? The pastor thing is clearly important because it gives people the impression that Obama is an angry black man deep down, which he very well maybe. I think it's perfectly okay to have this fear.

Yeah, I don't understand why they view the pastor issue as a flaw in Obama's character and judgment.

So what if the church spouts racist hate speech or anti-semitic rants? It isn't like Obama was the one saying those things, right?

Personally, I'm disappointed that I haven't been able to find a church like that. I feel I've failed as a spiritual leader for my family if I can't subject my wife and kids to sermons with messages like, "Jesus loves you, blame whitey, and fraking Jews."

Silly white/asian/brown people.  ::)

Criticizing historical errors and having resentment for the past is much different than being angry and using this kind of language and hate today.  No race or group of people have truely overcome by continuing angry and entitilement feelings for 50 yrs.  Not productive, not effective.

Again, I maintain that a piece of the person is the close company they keep.  Gives you an insight into their true beliefs, understanding and teachings.  If Obama had said these things himself, it would be much different.  With these two pastors as friends and spiritual advisors, it must at least raise questions...thats what we are doing.  Everyone campaigning for president, the highest office, needs to be under this kind of microscope.  Its the most important single position in the country.
