Couple's That Baby Talk!!

I've just moved into a new place with my mate and his girlfriend and another dude...

My mate and his gf constantly baby talk... about what for dinner about how their day was... EVERYTHING! Its worse than fingers dwn a chalk board. It grates me down to my inner core!

How do I approach this subject with them without having a full scale meltdown?

ahhh fvck it man just come out with it in a nice non aggressive way, i had a roommate who did the same and eventually he would go into the other room when talking to her on the phone. me and the other roommate made fun of him to no end as well so that probably helped.

Mike and I talk like that sometimes, ok a lot, but not around other people, lmao!   


And for the most part...I talk like that once in a while to everyone, lmao  I will just through out something a kid might say in a kids voice (like: that's not fair!  , I'm tellin', etc.)

They are still doing it and it pains me beyond belief. I suggested that we implement a "house meeting" once a week to discuss matters, and I will very subtly bring it up there...  Even though they have been together over a year they still have the "puppy love" thing going on and I wouldnt want to be responsible for destroying their relationship by brutally attacking their love of baby talk.

Sounds like a good idea, but remember...there may be something about you that erks them as well so be prepared as you may hear something back.  Hopefully all will work out and everyone will just respect one another enough to comply and be happy

I have always talked in a baby-talk kind of way when comfortable with a boyfriend.  And I don't mean I always talk baby-talk...just when trying to be cute or whatnot.  I normally converse in a normal speaking tone.   

I remember one bf of mine who told me in the begining it was so cute and how he just loved how innocent and sweet I sounded when doing so.  Then one day out of the blue (it was about 4 years later) he said "why do you always talk like that" in a most disgusted manner.  I was completely floored.  After thinking about it for 2.2 seconds I looked at him back and told him he had stated it was one of the things he said he loved about me and asked what made it all of a sudden change after 4 years.  I am what I am, and I don't plan on changing the person I am for anyone. 

Life is to short to be "grown up" all the time.  I will say it is one of my biggest attractions to Michael that he can be a kid with me and not always an adult.  Of course we don't get all baby-talk in front of other, but we do act like kids sometimes around others.  I can't say I've ever had a complaint from anyone, if anything they laugh  and say we're meant for eachother with a warm heart.  We also manage to bring the kid out in our friends too.
