The US will be making a very severe blunder if and when it attacks Iran. What some people don't understand is that Iran has a very young population percentage...a population which includes a great many students who attend the various universities studying subjects such as Engineering that keep a nation going. These students are the future leaders of this country in which the same young men and women are very much pro-Western. They like the same music, television, and videos that we do.
Let the old guard die off naturally. It wouldn't serve the US well to alienate and threaten an entire nation of people of which the vast majority have absolutely no qualms with us whatsoever.....until we bomb them back into the stone age.
We can help along the process of supporting a democratic movement in Iran...we have talked with Iran in the past and they were "helpful" in Afghanistan prior to the axis of evil speech. I would support talks with Iran..back door only.... as well as destablizing the current government. I would not support overt diplomacy as that alienates many of our other allies in the Middle East. Nobody there wants a nuclear iran. I don't think we can ignore their meddling in Iraq to much longer. We need to shit or get off the pot. There is not a easy solution in this case.
