I don't have to accuse the man of anything. I wouldn't expect you to take my word for it even if I were to.
For something as serious as that, I'd prefer to defer to the man himself, ...let you take his word on the matter.
His May 14, 1973 interview might be a good place to start.

Now, rather than advise me to keep opinions to myself, why don't you answer my original questions?
What does it mean to military veterans when someone who wears the uniforms trades secrets and/or collaborates with the enemy in exchange for preferential treatment? If wearing the uniform means something, ...I would think collaborating with the enemy must also hold some meaning too? ...no? What does that mean for you?
Treason is treason. If the traitor was a military veteran it just makes the stain of dishonor even bigger and the shame greater.
But what makes a military veteran even more upset is when someone accuses a decorated war hero, like McCain, of treason and cites nothing more than an inflammatory article. Especially one that leads off with,
"Once upon a time there was a country named America which was founded on repressing and murdering its original inhabitants and on the ideas of equality and freedom from injustice." Yay America bashing.
I also noticed you didn't provide a hyperlink to the source article, Judi. Why is that? What credible and respected newspaper printed that article about McCain? Who wrote the article?
While I may not be crazy about McCain he still has my respect. The fact that he wore a military uniform, fought for his country, and was a POW who was tortured and stayed with his fellow POWs (even though he was given the chance to leave because of who his father was) says a lot about the man's honor, integrity, and loyalty to his men and country.
I think you're going to have to do a lot better than citing an inflammatory article with an obvious anti-American tone.
