Personally i think that (from a physique perspective) he is overrated, but ive always heard good things about Lee. Not a bad word seems to be spoken about him.
No doubt about it...

he gets overlooked because of his 'thin' overall looking physique, due to him being tall and having proportionately smallish arms. yates didnt get overlooked for having small arms because he brought such an impressive v-taper (massive back, chest and shoulder width) that made him look truly herculean.

Lee was and is the ultimate gent and class act. I saw him guest pose a week after the '87 Olympia and he was amazing. Had to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated. Incidently in 1989 Wayne Demilia told me during the Grand Prix Tour that Haney had now got "too much muscle for his frame"!!!! What must Wayne think of todays Mass Monsters??!!!

dont get me wrong, haney had a great back, but the way he posed, really made it look unimpressive. from the front it was ok, but his muscle and skeletal shape (among other things) really didnt help him when it came to looking freaky in most poses.

i personally don't agree but your point is well taken. he didn't have the tiny waist like flex or shawn but a giant in his era in my opinion

the guy was a freak, no question. just gone and had a look at his posing routines, and i take back what i said about him not looking freaky in most poses. there is still something that makes him look smaller than he really is... i just cant pinpoint what it is.

I know what you mean - Shortish torso top to bottom and just thick packed in muscle I reckon. Fantastic physique and obviously not ALL drugs like so many of today's guys.
