I think it's less kissing his butt than an economic realpolitik:

1) nostalgia sells
2) a reflection on today's bb'ing scene in the shitter
3) a certain 'guarantee' that it will certainly sell more copies than with, say, Jay on the cover to the
average/casual WalMart buyer

Irony is though that Shari looks better than you can ever dream of looking and earns more in a week than you will earn in the next year.
