Man, that line got me all choked up.  Fuck, what a sad situation.  You see both sides.  Troops want to come home.  But troops want to be part of a success.  Some don't care about anything but getting home.  Some do care about what some dirt poor fool screams for the CNN camera once we're outta there. 

These should be a bigger word than 'quagmire' for a situation like this.  You look at both candidiates position... Stay, and history calls us the winner, we control oil and bases, and we stop AQ there, if it'll really take base there.  Leave, and you save lives, our relationship with the world heals, and you let the country heal.

There isn't a "right" solution here... just less wrong ones.

If u break it down, a small number will people who are metally ill and might or would have anyway...the two larger groups will be because of combat and what people have seen and going through. The last group will be because of family separations and divorce etc....Its a fact of the job, much like Police work.

plus, when you consider Gen. Barry McCaff said the bottom 10% of the military shouldn't be there - only admitted cause we need folks - you're going to get a lot more screwups.

You're getting more duds now than you have in a long time, though, because of lowering entry standards to meet recruiting demands. 

There is an least one Latino gang that is *thrilled* about this and has already started infiltrating the Army.

I understand what you are feeling, but at the same time, you have to look at it from the other perspective - if a foreign invaded the U.S., wouldn't you take up arms and fight against them until your last breath?

The only time i look from the point of view of the enemy is if it will better help me kill him, they're the enemy and beyond never underestimating him, i won't give him a thing. I'm not debating ur point because if our government was killing us and England came in to help, plus rebuild on top of it. I'd reserve judgement. They have a completely different mind set then us anyway.

Gangs have been a huge problem, especially in the early to mid 90's. Now they're getting trigger time. There is no easy answer.
