in addition to muscle, growth hormone can cause cartilage to grow.  this includes the cartilage in the jaw, nose, ears and brow.  some people seem to be more susceptible to it than others.   some people get the protruding stomach, others their face becomes more Neanderthal like.

thanks, Tim. it seems that Arnold may have had a less severe case of Acromegaly, as he has growth in the jaw, chin, and forhead, aswell as a large gap between his top two front teeth.
