It's 25K that is wrong.  The last contract lowered the starting salary to 25K from 34K.  Top pay was increased to 59K from 54K.  Get paid little to do a lot.  The pay isn't enough just with nonsense you have to deal with NYC itself and not even the people on the street.  Talk to those guys who do very "little" for high pay that are going into slums, and buying guns and drugs.  Tell that to the families of two detectives who were killed a few years ago during a gun buy.  People talk a lot of shit, but how many would have the balls to go do that?  I'm guessing few or none.
