Dead Pro Bodybuilders; Do they deserve the same respect???
« on: April 13, 2008, 07:03:14 PM »
It is all about choice! Mmmmm.

The Pro Bodybuilder chooses to use drugs, knowing full well that they may potentially 'shorten one's life'!

Should we feel saddened when these 'athletes' are taken prematurely?

Afterall, they are aware of the potential risks involved!

Personally, i feel more for the people who are left behind.  The families and friends who have to pick up the pieces and move forward with their lives.

Yes, i think the selfishness and self-destructive behaviour of today's Pro Bodybuilder is pitiful.

What about regular people who die young? I've known perfectly healthy people who're 40 and all of a sudden die of a hear attack. Or fat people for that matter who die? Do you think you should insult them after they're dead? Or smokers who get lung cancer? Death is tragic either way (unless you're a hippie or a commie).

What we do know is that when you die, Hank Wood, less than no respect will be given.

It just seems that these Pro Bodybuilders have some kind of twisted 'death wish thing' going on!  Their behaviour is far from stable.

I just don't think we should afford the same sympathy for these 'drug injecting' freaks.  They are fully aware of the consequences of their actions!

Bottom line, i feel sorrow for the families who have to attend the funerals and then spend the rest of their lives living with the 'ugly thoughts'.

The curse of the Dead Pro: ''Selfish and vain people who don't know how much 'ongoing potential misery' they can inflict on the one's they leave behind!''

You are pittiful for being closed minded and not respecting other peoples desires. If someone desires rock climbing, something I would never do, I would respect them for have some sort of excitement in life and not being common like the bland and timed masses. If one falls down a cliff and dies then they would be remembered for their bravery not criticized for the risked involved in their passion. Bodybuilding may not make sense to you, but for you to bash it just because you couldn't cut it or hate it because your shitty genetics or lack of descipline is low.

''Death'' on any level is tragic!

However, the death of a Pro Bodybuilder just doesn't carry the 'same burden' as say a women who died in a violent rape, or a young child who has been runover by a drunk driver!

Bottom line, it is all about responsibility for one's actions.

Dead Pro Bodybuilders are just a reflection of a sport built on nothing but drugs and empty-vanity!

Speak to the families who have to bury their dead.

Pro Bodybuilding is a vile sport.

How many more of our brothers will have to die before something is done?

There are two categories of death;

1.  The actual dead; they get buried

2.  The living dead; they spend time in hospitals and psych wards.

If you are Pro Bodybuilder then you can 'choose' your category of death!

Look, it is evident that people feel very uncomfortable talking about death.  And yes, the deaths of Pro Bodybuilders is a subject that has an inherent unpleasantness about it!

I suppose what i am saying is; the life of a Pro is not as significant as the life of an ordinary mainstreamer.

Pro Bodybuilders are aware of the dangers of the sport.  So dying prematurely should not come as a surprise to them.

God bless.
