BOSTON — Former Clinton Cabinet member Robert Reich has decided to endorse Barack Obama — and not Hillary Rodham Clinton — in the battle for the Democratic presidential nomination.

In a blog post Friday, the former labor secretary said that “although Hillary Clinton has offered solid and sensible policy proposals, Obama’s strike me as even more so.”

Reich says the Illinois senator’s plans for reforming Social Security and health care have a better chance of succeeding, and his approach to the nation’s housing crisis and financial market failures “are sounder than hers.”

Reich is a longtime friend of the Clintons.

Why do you think so many liberals are leaving the Democratic party for the Green party? They're leaving for the same reason many conservatives change their party affiliation to Independent or Libertarian.

In the end we're all stuck voting for who best represents our political beliefs. The two party system is a load of crap.

I hear a lot of repub sheep say that.  You know, they voted hilary in the primary to drag it out.

IF hilary was the candidate, she might actually out-hawk mccain, and she would probably look decent against him both age-wise and on positions.  She's been exposed for 16 years now and the worst thing people can say about her... they don't trust her, and she lied about the bosnia thing.  That might be something to overlook, the first time mccain has some secret revealed, or if his anger shows, something that is possible when he's pressured.  We've seen him tear reporters a new A-hole repeatedly.
