Is 2570 the world record? Is that why the folks at Guinness were there?
yeah, the raw record. by a good 200 pounds i believe. he'd also have the all-time raw squat record (i think), and he's ahead of andy bolton's deadlift record by a few pounds. at the time this showed up, he had the deadlift record beaten by a good 70.
the thing is, everyone shits on this because "if it was real he'd do a meet and break records". but while, again, i'm not saying this is definitely real, the fact is the odds of there being a few people out there who could break records if they competed but choose not to is VERY high. even on PL forums there are guys who, while not record breakers, are certainly top-level elite but just don't want to go to meets.
i've seen all the arguments against it. "he shakes too much on the squat", "the bar bends too much on the bench", etc. yeah there's points to it, but unless you were there, you don't know. and you can't argue that he definitely LOOKS like he's exerting himself to the best of his ability, so if it's not 550 on the bench, it's gotta be however much he can do.
hedge, how about YOU go back to insisting that single-ply lifters are gods despite getting outlifted even RAW by other guys.
