Several years ago, the IOC ranked bodybuilding as the 7th ranked 'sport' in the world in terms of participation, with soccer being #1.
Since poker and now even Scrabble are games featured on ESPN, are these considered to be sports? If so, then I'd have to say bb is, too.Although I am unsure of it being so (bb, that is...)
It's sad a "sport" like bb gets less interest than a board game tournament.
Why? Did AlGore invent something better?
Low and behold all you haters on a bodybuilding website.....sport Audio Help /spɔrt, spoʊrt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[spawrt, spohrt] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bodybuilding, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
Hey genius.....half the shit in there isn't a real sport.Golf? Bowling? Hunting? Fishing? Racing? HA!Maybe it's just me, but here I thought a sport was something that required athletic ability. Let me guess, Poker is now a sport too?
any activity that involves COMPETITIVE PHYSICAL EXERTION is a sportpoker is not a sporti don't see how hunting is a sport eitherthe rest are sportsE
Does this guy look like he can do anything physically exerting exept eat? He looks like he'd get winded taking a shit (which I"m sure is frequently)http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=210882.0
I call bullshit on that. Why, because they probably thought of "weightlifting" as bbing. Which are different. There are lots of weightlifters at my gym, but few bbers.
I am not attempting to BS anyone. The list was published in USA Today.
So to YOU racing is a sport?Even though the car is doing the fucking work? I mean, yes, the driver drives, but it's just like Horse racing, where teh fucking horse does the work. The Jockey just slap the shit out of the horse to make it speed up (or in racing stepping on the gas). Sorry, but just being a "competition" does not a sport make.
No, you misunderstood me. it's not YOU I call it on.....USA Today thinks of weightlifting (hell, people with a gym membership) as part of bbing, which is not the case to anyone with a clue.
hunting requires real skillsunless u're saying oiling up and posing in a man thong is a skill, in which case maybe..It shouldn't matter whether its a sport or not, how abt just call it 'activity'. Categorising it is unnecessary, and calling it a sport is only justified cuz it's easy to call it that.
pointing a gun and pulling a trigger takes skill?there are people in wheel chairs that hunt posing is a skill, notice how some guys pose better than others?E
Hunting DOES require skill. Most things do. But unless your kind of hunting is the kind where you chase your prey with a spear, knife, or bow and arrow, it does not require athleticism.
