The ring(s)
« on: April 24, 2008, 08:28:45 AM »
Would you post one or more pix of the ring(s) you wear most often?  Or your favorite ring?  Wedding ring? Friendship ring? etc?

Simple bands seem to make a lot of sense to me.  Doesn't a big rock on your finger get in the way of doing things with your hands (lifting weights, washing dishes, etc.)?  I remember when Kobe Bryant cheating on his wife... in a very public way he gave her a HUGE diamond ring presumably in repentance; I remember thinking, who would want to wear a rock like that?  ???  It was too big!

I like the woman's ring in the second picture  :)

Anyway, I have many rings...but don't wear them all the time.  I never wear them when training as they do get in the way or pinch when lifting.

I doubt Kobe's wife's ring gets in the way of her doing anything.  I'm sure she has "people" that do her things for her.   ;)

I wear 3 rings at all times (unless they are being repaired).  One is my wedding/engagement ring, one is an anniversary band and one is another ring I wear on my right hand.

Yes, sometimes rings catch on things and sometimes my prongs on my wedding ring will move but I usually use a knife or something and move them back into place--I know I shouldn't do that though :-\

I only wear two rings, my wedding ring and now my CytoSport Founders Ring I got this past year. I only wear my wedding ring to the gym, doesn't get in the way at all. However, it's no Kobe Bryant Repent Ring either!  ;)

I RARELY wear any rings, mostly because they get in the way.  I wash my hands OFTEN and put lotion on and that requires taking them off.  I'd probably forget them somewhere.  Also, I don't want to draw attention to my hands since my nails suck.

I normally don't find they get in the way.
I've only had one get in the way once when I was shoving something in the freezer.
The stone fell in the ice bucket, but other  than that, I s'pose you get used to it.

I love my engagement ring and my wedding band, but I never wear them anymore.  I haven't worn either in about 3 years.   :-\

I can't wear them when I train, and I'm too worried about losing them to take them off anywhere but home, so home is where they now stay.

I also dont wear my wedding band.
I work with my hands and because of my wedding band I got my hand caught between cables on a crane about 10 years ago.
It took about 45 minutes to free me.

I do have a ring some where else though   ;D

A lot of chicks prefer guys with wedding bands, it is called pre-selection.

Many years ago before I was married we used to put on wedding bands when we went clubbing to pick up chicks   ;)

I have found this to be somewhat true.

Ladies speak on this?

It is very true.
If you go to a club alone or with buddies the ladies never give a second look.
If you rock up with a woman the other ladies are all of a sudden interested.
Me and a Lesbian buddy used to go out and pretend to be a couple to get our "catch rate" up.
It worked for both of us.

I hate to say it but i think there is something to this. I seem to get a lot more attention when I wear my ring.  :-\

It is my belief that the women who go after men with a wedding ring (and vice-versa) do so because it means there won't be any serious committment issues.  They are looking for a "no-ties" kind of relationship, a little bootie or what-not.  Most of the time it backfires though with one or the other wanting the marriage to be ended for the sake of the new relationship.

I agree that the M.O. is true for both sides.

I didn't start wearing my ring until about a year ago and wow did the pressure from women start pouring on.

Especially when I am with my kids! Women seem to go out of their way to converse and flirt!  They are always hinting around about a night out (usually no strings attached); kinda desperate if you ask me.
