No, I don't think they are the only ones invested,  but it is far too much of a coincidence that Oil prices have skyrocketed since he's been in office... far too much.

It's tripled.  if you blame the dems for the weakend Dollar, well, I will lose a lot of respect for you Joe.  The dollar is weak because of a lot of factors dating back decades, before Bush, before Clinton.  It's a world global trend.  Mostly, people are losing confidence in the dollar (and it's value dropping as a result) because world opinion of US leaders - both dem and repub - is falling.

Want to bet the prices drop just before the Nov election, and the repubs take credit for it?  Gas jumped like crazy in summer 2006, then Bush had sec of treasury Paulson move some $ around so it dropped almost a dollar, in october 2004, and Bush gloated on TV that he fixed it.

On the politics board, we then noted how prices immediately climbed once the election passed, to even higher levels (and you know how high they are today).  later it came out HOW he dropped prices, and it was so obviously a political move...

But I'm betting prices drop in october again.  And I'm betting the same ppl who fell for it in 2006, fall for it again.

some decision makers in other nations believe our leaders (as buch has) are willing to sacrifice longterm US interests for their own shortterm personal gains.  Therefore investing their nations resources becomes more risky as the longterm sustainability of the USA in a world where its losing more competitive advantages becomes less 'automatic'.

Another 4, 8 or 12 years of the president (or VP) using the office to further the company he CEO'd until he was elected president, and borrowing a tril a year to pay that company, and yes, longterm confidence in the US wanes.

The dollar is weak for many reasons. Lately it's tanking bad (lost about 30% of value in past few years) due to the continual printing of money and lack of economic growth. The printing of money at a mad rate is leading to crazy inflation. We are not producing as much anymore. We're importing goods more.

  It will get much worse before it gets better.
