Some of the best student-athletes EVER....

The Collegiate Scholarships BB Championships I promoted in the late 90's....all entrants had to be full time students, they had to pass a drug test (altho I admit it was likely beaten by a few...), they had to write an essay to compete...first of its kind....

Class winners
Gemma
Streets
Aylward
Drummond

Pat Aylward, Overall winner

MW winner streets...today one of best WNBF pros

I gave 5 thousand bucks in scholarships away every year

HW Winner Dan Drummond...lost overall to Aylward by a point, second to him was current nationals competitor, Blair Mone

They were just talking about these "student-athletes" on the History channel.  It was wonderful seeing all the old Sports Center highlights.

Oh yeah, the big schools don't even expect their top athletes to attend classes.  I bet these studs were rolling in dough from the boosters. 
I'm just glad no one got caught.

They conitune to not get caught....you will always see fellows who should get hooked on phonics in  the backfields of Ivy-league level schools such as Michigan and the like.

Yeah...Bennett Streets...his  dad is the Provost of Yale Divinity school...he is a great guy and an excellent bb...no one gets tighter than him...like Saran Wrap
