His reaction to the information is the owning, not the information itself.  If he had just said "so what?" and continued posting on like nothing happened it would have died quickly.  Instead, he sends threatening PM's, cries to every mod here like a stuck pig, and melts all the way down.  So, this clearly bothers and embarrasses him, so naturally we're getting as much mileage as possible out of it.

100% on the money. He should have just rolled with it and it would have ended.

Its the perception of SF that mattered mostly to him.

To Dave the Squad persona was addicting. In the beginning no one knew what he looked like so a lot of people believed that he was a bad ass lifter etc but once the photos started making rounds that persona took a beating. Notice that his height/lifting claims dropped dramatically. So did his gym owning posts.  

This latest episode was just another blow to the persona that he had created.
Its pretty hard to make trailer trash jokes (pretty ironic) when you're one of them. EPic living in denial. The mantle of invincibility he thought existed around him was shattered pretty dramatically. I'm sure he was bragging about his getbig ownings to his fiancee. Imagine her shock when she found out her name and her parents was being discussed on a public forum.

Who knows..maybe her dad is hunting Squaddy in the tall grass with a shotgun
