I waited on the owner/originator of the Klondike Bar back in the early 90's when i worked at a she-she place on the water in Orange County...the man and his wife were super nice and he looked A LOT like the bear on the front...tall/big, white hair. They even came back the next day and gave me a stack of coupons for free bars...that was just lovely.
