I am sure most of you know who Sandow was...famous strong man...billed himself as strongest in the world...but  he was not. Much of what he did was entertainment and not based on reality

Isn't that what bodybuilding is?  Chick always states that it isn't how much you lift but how much you look like you can lift.

"What's a tortoise?"  :P

Interestingly, Ford and Scott hated one another and fought daily about the direction the film should take.  It's one of Ford's few roles that could have been better served by another actor IMO.  Daryll Hannah, as usual, should be seen and not heard.  Hauer totally stole the show.  The only man ever to out-spooky Walken (and again in The Hitcher).  My only real complaint is that they never answered whether robots do, in fact, dream of electric sheep.

Who's the actress?  What's her story doc?

This could be a Back-Lift photo, one of those odd lifts one doesn't see all that much anymore. Basically, a platform is built across a few saw-horses, then it is loaded with baby elephants, safes, people.... Anything that is interesting, and will make a good show.

The lifter then gets under the platform and tries to lift and support the weight using his full body.

If you look at old records, you'll all types of crazy poundages being lifted in this lift(3000-4000lbs) regularly. Noted strength historian Dave Willoughby believed that a practiced strength man should have a back lift atleast 13 times his shoulder press.

Hmm. The new, new 'director's' cut of the movie has a 3-hour documentary on the movie. A fan like me found it fascinating. The actress is Sean Young, in a still taken from the Deckard/Rachael interview at the beginning of the movie. Amazing what they can do with cgi these days, but everything in BR was done without such technology and it's dystopian world still holds up today. An Art sci-fi movie; not many of those around.
