Hmm. I think the lad is in blackface. And Sandow was with Flo Ziegfeld (the ent. empresario) for years, so I would assume the others are also in this troupe and this is just a publicity shot.

Unfortunately, Sandow passed away from what was reportedly syphilis...although others have tried to romanticize his death by avering that he died shortly after lifting a car out of a ditch.

He lived a lonely and loveless life to the end...and his family refused to erect a headstone at his burial site.
