I think it was a lack of hard back training.

Nasser and Dillet both had wide and muscular backs which were poorly developed. Can't tell someone with full muscles bellies like that should have such a weak back.

that haney/Strydom pic was from way back in 1988 I think. Gary was smaller overall back then.

Gary really improved his back by 1991 when he won the WBF title. He was much bigger through out his whole physique at that point. He would have been top 3 at that years olympia (behind Haney and Yates)

True, Gary really had brought his back up for WBF titles, but weak bodyparts dont hold......needed to have Dorian show him how to train the damn thing.....LOL...from the front he's a stud

he overdieted for that show was like 228,he was leaner back 86-88 anyway and he killed it in 88,3 yrs later he competed at 262 :o
