Yes, a lot of money could not get him out of this one.  

Anyway, he will be put in a low security facility and will be spared the anal raping and belittling.

he got off easy

minimum sentencing for street racing alone in CA is a year.  He was intoxicated, was street racing in a car he obviously couldn't handle, and left a passenger bed ridden and probably a vegetable for the rest of his life..and he only got 8 months

i would have given him at least a year and taken away his license until he was 25
