I'm half Swede, half American-lived in both countries, back and forth, pretty much all my life. I wouldn't say that the majority of outsiders dislike America as a whole, but are definitely annoyed with the cockiness played off as patriotism, put off by the the abrasiveness of the average American in comparison with the quieter, more reserved nature of the average European, and put off as well by the percieved 'consume everything at all costs' kind of lifestyle of the average American and the country as a whole.
