Er no. I would prefer to do what I did which is respond to a post you made -basically yet again trying to call men homosexuals becuase you can't understand that some of use bodybuilding as more than gay, jerking material.

I would only pm you to find pictures of gays or ask where I can find Barbara Streisand records. None appeal to me.
how about a picture of a new deluxe trailer in a upscale park sausage fingers?

A surprising number of guys on getbig (and similar BB boards) are quick to say that they ‘don’t patronize bodybuilding’ ‘aren’t really fans of the sport’ or ‘don’t follow it too closely’.  They seem very eager to distance themselves from the bodybuilding world.  For those of you whom do, why do you feel the need to do this?

There is an old guy at my gym I occasionally chat with when we are next to each other on the treadmill.  He has no idea who Flex Wheeler or Dorian Yates are; he goes to the gym and works out simply because he is interested in his own fitness.  Sure he knows who Arnold S. is, but he can legitimately say he is not a fan of bodybuilding.

But if you can name the Mr. O winner; if you come to getbig more than thrice; if you can name more than three BB mags or have picked up a bodybuilding magazine more than once in the last year you are a fan of bodybuilding.  There is no reason to deny this yet so many of you seem to want to; there are literally billions of web pages out there… yet this is where you have chosen to be.  A couple days ago a member here with more than 7836 posts to his credit asserted that "I DON'T patronize 'bodybuilding' per se" he was just here for entertainment.

There seems to be a strange love/hate relationship between bodybuilding and its many ‘fans’ who want to pretend like they are not really interested in the sport even as they repeatedly click their mouse button to get here, debate the merits of this or that bb's physique, spend money on shows, magazines, videos, etc.  Remember this guy who didn’t want to admit that he liked looking at Ronnie Coleman because he was afraid of what his friends would think? http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=128181.msg2292381#msg2292381

It all seems so schizophrenic: insecurity brings so many men to the sport of bodybuilding, but it also prompts them to keep the sport at arms' length.  Are you ashamed of your interest of bodybuilding?  Ashamed of your hobby?  Ashamed of yourself?

Dear Sir,

Nothing brings me more joy than to behold and be smitten by the sheer beauty of a muscle-bound ebony moutain of muscle posing revoltingly like a prancing party circuit queen to the gayest R'n'B music imaginable.

Shredded glutes barely concealed by nut-hugging bikini-thin posers, epic GH guts hanging over said posers, and the sheer beauty of site-injected syntholized body parts straining against the skin on stage, as the face displays a grimace of extreme distress and constipation.

Bodybuilding: It is a hobby of which I am truly proud.

Dear Mr B. GBM,

Your constant pathetic persistent attempts to sneak your filthy faggotry into our noble sport are nothing short of outrageous.

Please refrain from demeaning our great and noble sport.

There are many days when I'm not a fan of bodybuilding.

I definitely agree with your love/hate characterization of the feelings many of us have towards competitive bodybuilding.

it sounds like he was being reasonable.   i think that the majority of people do not understand the idea of judging the specifics of a physique (in a non-sexual way).  they don't care about taper or balance or proportion or small joints or anything like that.

People come here for the banter and bullshit and ownings.  If all of a sudden there were no more posts on Getbig about the IFBB and their "sport", this place would probably be even better.

Totally agree.

How can you say he was being reasonable?

He was obviously a big fan of Ronnie’s.  He went to the trouble of finding that poster and hanging it on a wall in his apartment; day after day (for weeks? Months?) he looked at and obviously admired it, but he caved in to a smart remark from his ‘friend’ who called him a fag and then took the poster down.  This sounds like the behavior of someone in elementary school—not an adult.

It’s sad to see someone so invested in the approval of his supposed friends that he would conform his life to their demands and expectations.  Maybe he needs different friends?  Or a backbone?  :-[

This guy who had posters of Ronnie and Arnold on his wall now claims he will not watch "too many" bodybuilding shows.

LOL Not even I do that!  ;D

This is exactly what I'm talking about.  The very people who do this will turn around on this board (with thousands of posts to their name) and claim that they are not really interested in the sport.  ::)

Me too.  I dig the sport and have no problem saying that... but not even I watch webcasts and PPV events or travel out of my way to see a show.  Let me be clear, there is nothing wrong with doing any of those things, but doing them and then claiming to not really be interested in the sport is the mark of someone hopelessly in denial.  :-[

Bodybuilding is heavily associated with homosexuality by the general public.  That doesn't mean its followers or participants are gay, but denying the public's perception is just pissing into the wind.  Whether the guy with the Coleman poster needs a backbone is another matter.

Besides Bay, didn't your signature used to say, "Bodybuilding gay!  Who knew?"

It depends what level of fanaticism you are on......
I'm a fan of the IFBB and the physiques displayed even though alot of them are boring and do unethical practices, its the competition that inspires me to better myself.
I couldnt be one of those fatasses who dosent work out and be a fan of the sport, it just contradicts the whole concept of why i was a fan in the first place.

IFBB Bodybuilding = inspiration & motivation
The message boards is just a place to have fun and learn new things, sometimes in good taste and sometimes in bad taste.

We have a saying where I come from: don't listen to what people say, listen to what they do.

--posting on BB message boards
--subscribing to or flipping through BB magazines
--paying to attend shows (evening or prejudging)
--watching BB show webcasts
--buying BB video$
--recognizing all the top pros
--hanging BB photos on your wall/refrigerator

There is no denying it. Only a fan of BB would do these things.  ::)

i thought it was reasonable in the sense that posters arent all that important compared to the sorts of conflicts that might arise from having those sorts of posters

it's easier to take down those sorts of posters than to explain bodybuilding to a disinterested audience
