I asked Ron that in a couple of interviews. He said that he had never actually left the Arlington Police, rather reduced his position to a reserve officer or something. It basically meant that he would maintain his superannuation, health, dental plans etc. In return he would make some appearances and do PR for the force about once a month. If ever he wanted to resume full time duties he could.

Props to Ronnie, he won 4 Olympia's while working full time, that's 10 hour shifts in full police getup, vest etc. I asked him if his fellow officers were supportive before contests, maybe give him a break or extra time to eat. He said "Hell no, they don't care about no bodybuilding". Ronnie had to get up at 4AM to do his cardio and prepare his daily food before his 10 hour shift and then to the gym. Easily the hardest working pro ever. Mad respect to King Coleman!

How many dickheads give up their job to live the dream and never make it to their first show?

Mike Arvilla would, if he had a real job to give up.

He does have a real job! He proudly states that he was a bouncer for 14 years, and now he is a back up aerobics instructor in Florida while he does local shows as prep for his run at competing at the nationals
