Surprised no one commented on Hillary's win last night.  Small state but overwhelming win.  I think she won by over 30% of the vote.  Some 150,000+ votes.  She still won't be the nominee but with it being that close, I think Obama is going to have it rough in the general.  McCain is moderate enough that he will get many of the moderate democrats if Obama is the nominee.  I think the WVA poll yest said only 51% of the democrats that voted yesterday would vote for Obama in the general.

Obama/Clinton ticket in the fall will never happen, Obama needs Colin Powell to switch and run with him.  ;D then he might have success in the general.

I don't think America is ready for change just yet.

We'll have 4 more years of Republican rule IMO.

We're ready for some change, just not Obama's far left wing change.
More will come out about his far left wing Chicago support coming up the ranks in the general election.  That will turn more people off.
When are democrats going to learn that they need to nominate a moderate democrat to win!

Well, theres nothing "Moderate" about the troubles facing our country.  And if Oil keeps rising till the general election then "Mccain the same" will have Zero chance anyway...

I'm with Shootfighter on this.

In fact, if you look back to my posts in 2005-2006, you'll see that I stated many times that the Bush was handing the White House to the Dems on a silver platter, but once the Dems propped up Clinton and Obama, they completely doomed their chances.

One has to ask, where are the moderate Democrats?  Assuming any exist, why don't any want to seek the Presidency?  Going further, if they *do* exist and would like to be President, why isn't the Democratic Party listening to America and bringing them to the national spotlight??

What we're seeing is the lack of common sense in the people who control the Democratic Party...is it their blindness or their arrogance that keeps them from accepting the reality that America is not going to elect a woman or Black President at this time?

Even with the name 'Obama', if he wasn't so liberal, he might actually have a shot.  Are there people who will only vote against him because he's black?  Sure, but there would be a lot fewer of those people if he brought forth some moderate, common sense plans in his platform.

Disagree.   This is counterbalanced by the fact that daily conditions are weaking americans opinion on the economy.

Everyday when people fill up their tanks and shop for food and are told that inflation is not a concern.....they get more and more pissed.   The repubes are doing it to themselves. people want answers and they know Mccain cant deliver.
The repugs are gauranteeing a dem or lib for president.

IMO, a big part of our current economic issue is all the $ we've spent in Iraq and the fact that much of this $ has been borrowed.  If we hadn't invaded Iraq, one wonders how much better the economy would be.  Part of the argument I'm making is that we don't need a far left quasi-socialist agenda to "fix" the economy.  We need more fiscal responsibility from the government and to stop policing the world.  The ability for us to drill for our own oil, make more economical vehicles, and find an alternative source of fuel would make a huge difference.  All this without raising personal and capital gains taxes and expanding gov programs and control of our lives.
If you fear big government...DO NOT MAKE IT STRONGER!

Not only will that not happen, IF somehow it did, they would lose even bigger than Obama/x-person is already going to.

Will Barack choose John Edwards?  If not Hillary (and I don't see that happening either), then who?
I don't see Hillary acting as a VP....even if Barack picked her, I'll bet there would be a constant struggle of power.  Hillary probably believes she deserves this nomination.

LOL @ Shootfighter's clever use of 'probably' in regards to the Clintonian sense of entitlement!

Obama could invite Edwards, but I'm not convinced that Edwards packs enough punch on the national scene.  He is white, though, and speaks with a Southern accent, but his poor showing in the primaries doesn't leave me optimistic about his chances of bringing significant numbers of votes to the ticket.

Edwards would be a good choice, but VP candidates don't usually deliver many votes.  Obama might be the exception, because he really needs to a strong VP candidate to compensate for being so green.
