Mccain trying to divorce Bush
« on: May 15, 2008, 08:42:51 AM »
This morning, he gave a speech rosier than anythng Obama's ever given!

He criticized Bush on everything.  Attacked the way he's done everything, secrecy, etc.

So now the Q becomes, who is right?  Bush or Mccain?  Was Bush wrong to hide from congress, issue executive orders, deny mistakes?  Or is mccain a filthy lib for saying these things?

speak up, cricktcons!

He's just playing politics.. understandable considering Bush's approval ratings.

McCain is still a sniveling weasel.

LOL... yeah, you would have loved his speech.

he promised weekly Q&A with congress and the media
no more secret executive orders
complete accountability on everything he does
appoint as many dems as repubs in his new cabinet

Except, of course, he's vehemently defended all the bad things bush has done, over the last 8 years.  he'll buddy up with bush when he needs the nomination, then promise to be this great lib/neocon uniter, shitting on bush policy, once he needs the hilary voters.

Also he said we'd be out by the end of his term - something even OBAMA won't promise LMAO...

he's just going to look like he's having more memory problems when all the clips pop up of him saying the opposite.

yeah, he's been a pretty staunch defender of the very things he's attacking now.

Constant drive-by media attacks misleading the American public, liberal slander and hatred painting as "evil" and blaming everything on him (Katrina, poor economy, etc.), along with loss of support from the conservative base mainly over certain mistakes in Iraq and and impotent immigration policy.

McCain has never been 'in bed' with Bush or the republican party.  Its understandable that McCain had to move a little to the right to secure the republican base, now that he's done that, you will see him move back to the middle as he has always been.
Much of what politicians do make sure they get into office.  We can say the same about Obama, Hillary and McCain.  However, McCain has a long track record in politics.  He has been on both sides of the isle on many issues.  I can see him working well with democrats actually.
Even though there are some contradictions, I like what he is saying here.

The democrats screwed up in not nominating a more moderate candidate.  Obama will win the nomination but lose the general election.  This is a year the democrats could have stole the race too.  The republicans were smart in pushing McCain because he is so moderate, even though the far right wingers don't like him.  Despite some of the rhetoric, McCain is different than Bush....not as different as Obama but still different.  It is not Bush III.  Actually, thats laughable if you examine McCain's history.
