Appease vs. negotiate - let's settle this shit once and for all

Appease: To GIVE the enemy something to hope he'll stop.  See 1939, when Neville gave half of czech to Hitler so he wouldn't take the other half.

Negotiate: To DISCUSS issues with nations to deter or encourage certain behavior.


Obama would like to NEGOTIATE with terror states.  Just as Bush did - with N. Korea as they seek WMD, and with Libya, who Bush himself classified as a terrorist state, then thru quiet backdoor negotiations reached an agreement.  Many people also forget that even AFTER we labeled IRAN a terror state, we STILL negotiated with them for terms of Iraqi OIL and security issues.


Obama doesn't want to give the terror states ANYTHING. Just talk, to try to reach agreement.  Obviously strength alone isn't stopping them from blowing shit up in iraq, right?  Why not talk with them, just as Bush has talked with terror states.


You'll notice a lot of pundits saying "Obama is an appeaser!" but he doesn't want to give them a thing.  He just wants to talk, as Bush does.  People who say this are ignorant, and I just demonstrated why.

Foreign policy losers like Bush and McCain eliminate from the start any attempt to negotiate with our enemies. 

To take negotiations off the table leaves confrontation as the only tool in the box. 

It's funny how Bush can state that he wants no options taken off the table (read nuclear) when dealing with Iran...except for negotiations.

Reagan negotiated with the Russians.

EVERYBODY negotiates.

Reagan negotiated with USSR even as they droped baby mines onto playgrounds all over the world.  Bush2 negotiated with iraq, iran, and NK even after he labeled them terror groups.  He negotiated with Libya, who he called a terror state.  Only when negoations were successful did he admit they were taking place   So when he says "The US DOES NOT negotiate with terror states!" - that is an outright lie.  We do, and we should.  And to say obama is an appeaser (who actually gives something to terrorists), well it insults the intelligence of you, my friend.


What we are seeing is a coordinated effort - mccain and bush are doing it with complementary statements in times intervals - to make obama look soft on terror.    Voters should be aware that Obama is actually MORE of a hawk than mccain on some things.  Obama wants to walk right into pakistan and kill bin laden.  Mccain would rather try and let pakistan do it, after they've failed for 6 years.
