Guess Muscle Beach is too old skool and not that important to the new boys.....always good to remember the people and places that came before you...maybe it's just me as I am a history buff.

Oh, it is right on the Pacific Beach. Next week, I will take some shots of the ocean to show you how far the boardwalk and Muscle Beach workout area is compared to the beach.  I figure it is about 30 yards to the sand, then another 100 yards to the water.

This was a dedication ceremony. And I can honestly tell you, it is extremely hard to get down there, as there is no parking and tons of people on the weekend.  Gold's Gym Venice is about 10-12 blocks or so away.

ive worked out there a couple of times. It doesnt get too crowded if your there early. but, its only like $5 for a day pass, so later on the blow hards come in for 2 sets of bench presses and stand around looking hard

LaLanne has a great attitude and energy for any age. That new equipment and flooring will be real nice even though it was ok as it was, maybe that will help bring back some of it's popularity.

I know he's a good MC, has the gig with iron Magazine, apparently shows up at all these bodybuilding functions, but has the man actually ever lifted a weight in his life? Not trying to be negative, I just don't understand people's fascination and obsession with bobybuilding without ever having lifted at least 1 weight before? Maybe someone here has pics when he was young...did he ever lift?

Probably more of a "muscle worship" type.  These guys go ga-ga over bodybuilders so they get involved in the industry via photography, journalism, etc.  We all know the real motive...
