I'd rather look like that over any of the modern pros.  :)

No, but he is pushing his tricep out with his lat. Try it sometime. Relax your tricep a little while at the same time pushing your lat out. Takes a little practice to get it right.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Moosy.......Bill was and still is a mentor to me, he was my first real training partner when I was a kid from the time I 15 till I was 19. We trained (with a few others in the group) in Pasadena when he had his gym on Green St. To this day, you will not find a better more knowledgable person in the game than Bill.

Get him to post on here!
It hasn't helped...

Yep, i'm becoming more and more impressed with the "iron age" guys.
They better represent the "lifestyle" of fitness and strength, rather than the idea of "peaking" for a
bodybuilding contest. These guys didnt blow up to a fat 300lb in the offseason (Brewer style), or shrink to 200lb after a contest.

They LIVED for bodybuilding

They LIVED for bodybuilding

that statement is incorrect. The modern bber compromises health, life expectancy, finanacial security and mental well being for body building.

an iron age bber lifted weights as a side hobby and as a life enhancement IMO.

Bills physique personified power, one diesel looking cat! I met him briefly at York Barbell a few years back in his late 60s or early 70s and he still looked great! A classy guy.

Spoke with Bill on the phone two days ago about the passing of Clancy Ross. He is deeply saddened.

I have met Mr. Pearl a few times over the years and have nothing but good things to say about the man. He is well-spoken, friendly and intelligent. Heck, no one says anything bad about him. He is now 77 and one of the last remaining men from the golden era.
