Saw Victor Martinez today
« on: May 22, 2008, 04:34:04 PM »
I was working in Times Square 42nd NY and there i saw victor standing on the conner on his cell phone.  he was very kind, receptive and told him i was a fan. im not going to lie that i was hyped and just wanted to hit the gym after that.  he was looking huge and pretty lean so i inquired about the olympia and he told me its day to day depending on the knee recovery.  From the looks of him i say he was leaner that usual from off season pics that i have seen him in.

do you guys think he could recover that quickly from his injury in time for the olympia?

Welcome to the THUNDERDOME, BITCH!

The answer you seek is no. He is under pressure by MHP to compete at the Olympia because No El Compete-O, No El Check-O.

Im not a huge fan of Vic, but i do hope he competes in the O. You want the show to be a full line up with all the best guys in it. Makes it more exciting, which this years O will definietly be...
No doubt about it...

Blocky's correct. This ain't MLB or the NBA. You ain't paying the guy to sit on the sidelines for a year. Against his and his doctor's better judgment, Vic will risk his career to keep his sponsors happy.

MHP and MD's thought process is: We only have him under contract for one more year and then he's a free agent. So why should we continue paying him to do nothing when we can force him to compete and at least get something for our money before he moves on to larger contracts elsewhere.

"Larger contracts elsewhere"? Don't bet on it. Vicki's career doesn't have much longer to go.

You're retarded.  Vic's window to win the O may have closed, but he can still get 3-4 more wins at the Arnold, which is a great payday.

If Victor was smart he'd sit out and get focused on the 2009 ASC and get used to the idea of comming in as he did at the 2003 NYC Pro where he was at his best condition.

With the bum knee he will have a hard time and shouldn't push comming in HUGE or he will look disporportional.

Victor, like most people who roll the dice and has a Never Say Die attitude, will go against all sound and logical judgement due to the folded arms and raised eyebrows of MD and MHP as Special Ed pointed out.

Think of MD and MHP as Coach Bud Killmore in 'Varsity Blues' and think of Victor as the negroe workhorse who had to make the choice to allow the evil coach to put that cortisone in his knee and push himself which will bring on the impending inevitible of a finished career much sooner.

Victor is a nice guy and real down to Earth but he also lives for the attention of the limelight. He can't stay away from not being 'the man' for too long despite any reprecussions.

I don't know man, I think there are more than a few companies that would be more than willing to pay Vic some money. But then again, if MHP doesn't have anybody else if they let him go
