It would be perceived as a MASSIVE VICTORY for MD and BLECHMAN and AMI/Weider would lose their stranglehold on the only thing that they have over MD.

According to Isaac, Robin Chang, and several others, AMI/Weider is willing to break the bank to sign Dennis Wolf away from MD to ensure the Olympia title remains with AMI/Weider for eternity.
 
Didn't anyone else notice how Robin and McGough were at last year's Arnold when MD scored a 1-2-3-4 finish with Victor, Dexter, Freeman,  Badell? So what did they do? AMI went out and spent a boatload to steal Dexter, Freeman, and Badell from MD. Blechman had to let them all go just to be able to afford to keep Dennis and Victor.

nah, I didn't mean to derail the thread.  Just pointing out that the knee-jerk reaction to anything outside the official story - even though it's usually written by those with the most to gain - is a common mistake.

personally, I think anytime a sporting event's outcome means people get rich, there is going to be a bit of manipulation.  Arnold didn't deserve the 1980 win.  But, bodybuilding is bigger today because CBS covered his comeback.  Was it the right call?  Not to Mentzer, but certainly to the bigger picture.  History is written by the winners.

I do find it ridiculous when I hear the saying "there just isn't enough food to go around."  I am not sure if this number is still accurate, but  if all the worlds rations of grain products alone were split amongst all humans equally, there would be enough for all of us to have 3500 calories per day.   A Poor Man shames us all.

The other day I asked the deli girl at my grocery store how many days they keep the sub sandwiches before they throw them out (I asked because I shop late at night - 10pm - and they always have at least 20 sandwiches there). She told me they toss them every night at midnight.
