pete carroll is not a great coach, he's a great recruiter

you can't be considered the best when you lose to teams that don't have 10% of your talent like ucla in 06 and stanford last year

mack brown doesn't belong on the list, texas has great high school talent each year and he loses a lot of them to lsu and oklahoma, he didn't win a natl title, vince young won it

jim tressel is good but he benefits by playing in a weak league, he wouldn't have made the list if he coached in the sec

rich rodriguez should be on the list, wvu was a top team while only recruiting 2 - 3 star players and they still won two bcs games, recruiting will be much easier at michigan and they will beat osu on a yearly basis once he gets his system in place

i think the best coach is urban meyer

Urban Meyer has been pretty impressive so far.  He's only been a head coach since 2001 and he's already won a BCS championship, had an undefeated season, coached a #1 overall pick and coached a heisman winner.

college sports are the only sports where there are true upsets, in the pros everybody is great

i'm willing to bet stanford didn't have a single guy usc recruited out of high school, when your talent is that far superior to your opponent you can only win by outcoaching the other team

it might be too early to say but i don't think jim harbaugh is the next bear bryant :P
