As my physique proves, I am something of a hot-dog connoisseur. I prefer Nathan's over Sabrett, primarily because I have repeatedly found hard, inedbile pieces of gristle in Sabrett's. Sabrett is the primary hot dog sold on Manhattan's streets.
I usually prefer all-beef dogs, but for natural-cased dogs I prefer the regular beef-pork mix.
If you like your dogs crunchy when grilled, try Black Bear or Boar's Head natural casing.
I prefer a smoky hot dog, so my preferred brands are:
1. Kahns Beef (commonly used as a baseball team hot dog)
2. Oscar Meyer Beef
3. Ball Park Franks
For a non-smoky dog, I'd go with:
1. Hebrew National
2. Nathan's
3. Sabrett's
