stepdad's in the marines, it was a family trip.

alex, like i said, we were way deep in the base with one rental car and he wasn't gonna let me take it. not to mention "hey dad, mind driving me 20 miles off-base so i can meet up with a dude i met on a message board?" has kind of a weird ring to it. too much hullabaloo and i just didn't feel like jumping through all the hoops.

you gotta stop acting like i stood you up for a date, man. it woulda been cool, it didn't happen, move on.

I just felt bad for you flying all the way to the west coast and being stuck on a base.. last week was pretty nice, perfect beach weather... and you're the one who wanted to train with us anyway...

i know, that's why i felt like a douchebag for bailing. but i'm dead serious that my only real transportation was with the fam because he had the only vehicle. keep in mind he's a marine and was not gonna budge on the whole "it's rented in my name, yer not driving it" thing.

wasn't snubbing you, big guy. if i'd wanted to just avoid you i wouldn't have brought it up in the first place.
