You are onto something here, but I'm not sure if I agree with causation. You seem to be saying that they are not attractive facially due to being hateful, but I would say that they are hateful due to not being attractive facially.
Put another way, I would say that physical beauty reflects on an inherent quality of the cell which is fundamentally correct and that correctness would in turn manifest into deeds. For instance, a beautiful person is beautiful to the core and will behave in a way which reflects on that, while an ugly person is rotten to the core and their actions will also mirror their physical appearance.
