It has to do with suing for money that they will never see its an exercise in futility .

They will never see it because it will never be awarded to them in the first place.  In the OJ case, the Goldmans won, OJ just hasn't paid.  Completely different situations.

Agreed. I think this family cant resist their sad and empty feeling of not being able to blame anybody(Since the author of this incident is a dead ).

Daves mother is grieving. She lost her son. I am sure she feels heart breaking guilt already. Daves mother did NOT kill her.

I realize the Earhearts are grieving and most likely irrational at this time, but to sue a lady who just lost her child also is not acceptable. I hope they rethink this action.
