McCain Aide Says Bush Knows Little About Economy

June 6 (Bloomberg) -- George W. Bush's policies on the economy, other than on taxes, have been a failure, suggested John McCain's top economic policy adviser.

Douglas Holtz-Eakin said the only similarity between McCain's economic plan and Bush's is a commitment to keep taxes low.

``Sadly, it seems that is all President Bush understood in the economy,'' Holtz-Eakin said in an interview to be broadcast this weekend on Bloomberg Television's ``Conversations with Judy Woodruff.'' It is Barack Obama's budget plan, not Senator McCain's, that resembles Bush's policies, he said.

``It's dedicated to the recent Bush tradition of spending money on everything,'' Holtz-Eakin said.

This is the latest and most aggressive effort by the McCain campaign to distance the candidate from the unpopular policies of Bush. Illinois Senator Obama has charged that a McCain victory in November would amount to a third Bush term on economics.

People shouldnt get to down on obamas plan.  Its going to take some major pain to fix the shit that got messed up by bush.   Really how can you lower the deficet of 12 trillion without cutting some programs and taxing the rich er people that have it to give....whats the option? Tax the poor that have nothing to give??Aint going to work that way.

Expect to see a trimming of agencies and some major taxing to get this done.  The last president that had to clean up a mess almost this bad was clinton and it still took 8 yrs to do it.

If you dont like that this has to be done this way...well than you shouldnt have voted for bush in a second term.   Take your lumps, its time for the pain to begin.......
