So you would eat a high carb, high sugar, hi fat meal at the end of the day where most of that energy will go unused?

I would say before or after some kinda physical training.

But then again, a pizza and a movie in the evening is very enjoyable...

I would say any time of the day is good as long as you're in hard training and are confident you can burn off any unwanted calories as a result of said traiing. I would say the only time I would be wary of having a cheat meal is just before training. Afterwards is fine as Bluto said, the body will be glad of any sugary carbs (as long as it's with a good helping of protein). I wouldn't advocate cheating just before bedtime either.

earlier when i responded my keyboard wasnt working, lol, so now ill respond with words

carbs will be stored as fat if you dont burn them. correct. so eating carbs at night is not a good idea in most situations. BUT, when doing a "cheat meal" its most often times a scheduled high carb meal used to spike thyroid function and replenish glycogen during a period of depltion and fat loss.  in this state of glycogen depletion, it does naot matter whether you eat carbs at night, in the morning, or at any time at all. because in this state you dont burn the carbs, you store them in muscle.

so for me, i like to load the last meal of the night.

because for me starches are VERY addicting. i love them! if i "cheat" at meal #2, i am going to end up "cheating " at meals 3,4,5,6,..ect ect ..

take tonight for example. tonight is a "cheat" meal, since im dieting, and i am training chest tomorrow(a weak body part) and since i have been depleting carbs for three days straight with lots of cardio and weight lifting.

so currently it is 1015 and i have eaten two bowls of oatmeal with whey now im eating a bowl of granola with whey cinnamon and splenda.  ;D

(of course i take some ala and fish oil to improve insulin sensitivty and make sure i glycogen load and not fat load... )

I have my cheat meal after training. I generally only have one cheat meal a week (sometimes 2). Im following the Palumbo type diet, so a cheat meal to me is a meal where i will consume as many carbs as i want in that meal. And even though its a "cheat" meal, that mean is still pretty clean, i might just have potato or pasta or something, no point in going overboard with it.
No doubt about it...

So for this to work you have to be doing a keto diet or very low carb diet?
