I remember grabing a flex magazine and looking the through pics (as i didn't care about articles and stuff like that because i didn't knew shit) when i came across Lee priests pic curling a bar, i was so amazed how he managed to have so much muscle in such a small frame....freaky, i instantly became a Priest fan ...

Another guy was Nasser (yes, Nasser

a pic of him doing pullovers in the nautilus machine with his classic glasses and all these fancy clothes...looked cool.

how about you? which guys do you "blame" for getting into bodybuilding?

I don't know if i can pin point it to just one bb'er. The first mag i read was a '92 Flex mag i think (might be a different year, can't remember, the mag was like 10 years old when i read it) and it had guys like Lee Labrada, Porter Cotrell, Chris Cormier, Sonny Schmidt. I just remember seeing those physiques and instantly wanting to look like that.

There were many things for me which all kind of intermingle which inspired me. Before I ever bought a bodybuilding magazine or knew anything about the "sport" I had seen Van Damme films and wanted to look that muscular. Then I bought the magazines in the early 90's and guys like Dorian, Shawn Ray, and Kevin Levrone inspired me. Obviously Arnold did too and I also remember seeing an article in a British tabloid newspaper about the emerging WBF in 1990 and there was an interview with Gary Strydom and I wondered how on earth I was ever going to look like that. For some reason the idea of training with weights solidly for 15 years appealed to me and I've been hooked ever since.

it ws more of a book...

i found me a copy of the original pumping iron at hornebake liberary back in the day....

i'd sit there and pour over it for hours...

then i'd go to the scientific journals and pour over all relevant abstracts for hours..

None if them. I also had no interest in pro bodybuilding when I started lifting weights. I was inspired most by Reeves, simply because I wanted to have a physique like that. Same is true with Zane. I then got into the Pumping Iron film and liked Arnold's charisma etc..

None of the insulin/Gh type physiques were something I was interested in building for myself so my interest was and is confined to the novelty and circus freak aspect of it. For example, I will look at Trey Brewer threads, laugh and ponder what and why he did what he did to himself. The macabre theatre of it all keeps me pretty fascinated tbh.
