this looks like it could be entertaining, but bill is just too general when he speaks about religion, no substance really. he is more about getting laughs than making sense.

He has problems distinguishing between spirituality in general and certain man-made aspects of religion. Funny that as the intelligent guy he certainly is, he is still content with attacking the wackos and believes that that's all there is to it.

Well, it's very easy to speak from the comfort of your civilized space in the world.  :) Where spirituality rather than rampant religious consumerism, like every other consumerism, is the norm.  Try actually being there and you will feel like you're in the Walmart of religious belief. You might feel suffocated by it. There's nowhere like it in the world.

I can understand that, although I don't consider myself living in a more civilized part of the world. In any case, in the US there are also a lot of people who are not religious wackos and still understand that there is more to spirituality than attacking the extremists. Bill often has guests on his panel who criticize him for his platitudes and are far from being religious wackos.
