The other tips are all well and good and would help me out, but keep in mind I only eat < 2,000 calories per day and THAT is the real reason why I don't gain any muscle.

I didnt say anything about you gaining muscle.  All I said was correct your form.  Correct form will allow for easier movement of weight.

That's really grasping at straws.  Why not just call me weak?  It's not like the board requirement for Matt C flames require any credibility.  :)
Nuh. You've got some strength, but you do look like a dainty little fella.   :D

/and i'm positive that you accessorize your look with the matching belt   :-\

Right Form

Why wear gloves for a leg press?  Also....that cybex leg press is one of the biggest pain in the ass leg presses out there.  The release/lock handle alone makes me avoid it.

You are pressing with your front delts.  Looking at your your proportions this is a consistent problem with more than just bench press.

A few tips to bring your chest in play
1. Roll your shoulders back at the start of every negative, keep them as far back as possible
2. Lower the bar higher on your chest, halfway between your nipples and clavicle.

Consider hiring a good national level bodybuilder to show you how to train.

leg press is such a useless measurment of strengt.

point #1: all legpresses are different cause set at different angles.

point #2: to many douchbags does 2 inch rom presses working knee joints only.  ::)

i'm sure you are a pretty strong fellow though alex

why do people do that to their bodies. Why lift something so heavy, it tears on your ligaments, tendons and joints.

High reps and proper execution is more effective any way.

Hope this helps.

In who's face? You just loaded up a sled and took a picture of it. That's a lot different than actually using it for a full range rep isn't it? Silly boy. Why would you have to post it even if you could do it? You need us to validate you as a big man?

i actually like the cybex leg press its movement feels alot more natural to me and is easier on my knees, the release handle isnt that bad once you get used to it

and i got 1270, how in the world did you get 1700????

Yeah, the leg-press exercise isn't an accurate guage of strength. I'm a powerlifter and squat close to 700, and when I perform the movement, I use no more than 6 or 700 pounds, tops. I bring my knees to a point where they sit beside my delts. Real deep reps. I've witnessed many folks "press" much, much more than I do, and they'd be lucky to ascend with 185 pounds draped across their backs.

One doofus at my old gym (a middle-aged fool with no measureable muscle) would load the damn machine with well over a tonne and perform two-inch reps, and then get a look on his face like he was The Man. Right. I told him once that he'd derive more benfit with less resistance and more range of motion and he smirked as if he "knew better".

In the three years I frequented that establishment this dude grew not an ounce of muscle weight and never could bench press more than 185 OUT OF THE RACK. Pathetic gimp.
