No....its not.....heres my take on it:
1) Why in the hell are you wearing a belt to bench?? I could understand it if you were in a meet...but for a regular workout???
2) The way your bar sits in your hands makes MY wrists hurt. NO mechanical advantage. Try bringing the bar over your wrists more.
3) Keep those hips down. Every time you move them, you lose stability....thus lose strength.
It's funny that you mention the belt because that was the first day in my life I ever used a belt to bench. I wanted to see if it offered any advantage but I didn't find that it did.
The other tips are all well and good and would help me out, but keep in mind I only eat < 2,000 calories per day and THAT is the real reason why I don't gain any muscle.
It reminded me of the thread Alex started asking why getbig has been going down in terms of quality lately and he kept trying to make up reasons for this when the real reason is simply that the server is shit on here. Likewise, while my training is hard and heavy but with imperfect form, that really has nothing to do with my lack of gains. My lack of calories = my lack of gains. Eat like a bird, look like a bird. It's as simple as that. While my training may have flaws, it really has little to do with my lack of gains. You can't gain muscle on such low calories.
That is why Alex is one of the biggest dudes on getbig!! He probably has a larger appetite than I do and consumes more protein and overall calories.
